An unsettled, stormy sky today, with a whisper of wind from the SSW and steady pressure. The fish at Lac Imelda are likely to sit near the seam between weed and open water. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

In Quebec, Lac Imelda belongs to Outaouais. The surface lies 369 metres up. At about 97 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The shoreline runs about 9.9 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. Few waters listed in Outaouais are bigger. Saint-Boniface at 93 km is the nearest place to stop. Then Maniwaki, 105 km, and Ferme-Neuve, 110 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Lac Imelda the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -17°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about late November in an average year. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Plan around that when you fish Lac Imelda.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Failing this one, try Lac Talegalle, 0.8 km away. What applies at Lac Imelda may have changed since it was mapped.
