Rain on and off through the day, with mild air moving in from the SSW and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Miron should come off structure within a cast of the bank. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Lac Miron in the Laurentides part of Quebec. Elevation runs to 236 metres. The water covers some 25 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. About 2.4 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Few waters listed in Laurentides are bigger. Ferme-Neuve at 45 km is the nearest place to stop. Further out sit Saint-Boniface (49 km) and Mont-Laurier (54 km). It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Treat Lac Miron as a water to read rather than to cover.
The seasonal spread runs -16°C to 18°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Lac Miron runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac McDougal sits 1.5 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac Miron in particular, ask before you travel.
