Overcast skies today, with mild air moving in from the SW and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Lac Lepechin are likely to sit near the weed line and any gaps in it. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Lepechin lies within the bounds of Outaouais, Quebec. It stands 183 metres above sea level. It covers about 3 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. For a base, Deep River sits 24 km out. The big place round here is Gatineau, 178 km distant. The boundary is close enough to be worth checking before you fish.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Read Lac Lepechin for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -14°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. That shapes the year on Lac Lepechin.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. The nearest alternative is Lac Lehmann, 0.5 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Lepechin in what we hold.
