A wet system passing over today, with a steady SSW wind and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac Lamy should hold close to inflow corners and shaded margins. The night carries the best of the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean entry here is Lac Lamy, in Quebec. The ground around here is boreal forest. Roughly 14 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The bank runs about 2.0 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. It is high ground by Quebec standards. The closest town, Saint-Félicien, is 44 km away. Further out sit Saint-Prime (49 km) and Normandin (52 km). The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish among the fish reported. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Read Lac Lamy for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -18°C. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. The season on Lac Lamy rarely departs from it.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac a Pitre-du-Nord, 0.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Lamy in particular, ask before you travel.
