Sunshine start to finish today, with just enough NNE wind to ripple the surface and the barometer holding steady. The water to cover at Lac la Peche is bays that hold the day's warmth. The day holds up well from night into morning. Work the productive water thoroughly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

In Quebec, Lac la Peche falls inside Outaouais. Beyond the shoreline you have lake country bush. This is sizeable water at about 6.96 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. The shoreline runs to about 35 km, far more than one trip can cover. On our Outaouais list it sits near the top for size. Nearest place of any size is Constance Bay, 16 km away. Further out sit Shawville (23 km) and Arnprior (25 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. On Lac la Peche the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The seasonal spread runs -12°C to 19°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about early December. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. The season on Lac la Peche rarely departs from it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. You can launch from a ramp around 960 m away. A platform or pier sits within 840 m. A picnic spot sits 960 m from the bank. Public toilets are recorded roughly 990 m off. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Lac Mudpout is 0.9 km distant. Signs at Lac la Peche carry more weight than any list.
