An even grey lid over the water, with light air out of the ENE and no real change in pressure. Give the margins and the shelf beyond them the first hour at Lac Koenig. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. A hard-frost feel to the day; keep expectations modest.

Lac Koenig is listed under Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. Salt water lies 33 km off. About 5.11 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. The shoreline runs about 19 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. It ranks among the bigger water on our Quebec list. The town to know is Puvirnituq, 87 km out. Salluit follows at 170 km, then Inukjuak at 269 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Survey and observation records for Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Read Lac Koenig for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July near 11°C and January near -25°C on the long-run figures. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around mid June. Climate figures give an open season running mid June to late October. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. At Lac Koenig the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Leclair, 14 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac Koenig in what we hold.
