Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a kind ENE breeze on the water with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Lahaye are likely to sit near reed fringes and open pockets. The forecast backs the stretch from night into morning. Ride the conditions while they last. A raw day: short sessions and precise casts pay.

Lac Lahaye is a Nord-du-Québec water, in Quebec. The surroundings are northern bush. At 2.22 sq km this is proper open water rather than a pond. You are looking at roughly 17 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Head to Puvirnituq, 111 km away, for anything you forgot. Saguenay is the closest city, 1459 km away. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Nord-du-Québec records list Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco among the fish reported. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Anyone new to Lac Lahaye should walk it once before setting up.
The year swings from about -25°C in January to roughly 11°C in July. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about mid June. The lid tends to go about mid June and return around late October. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Expect Lac Lahaye to follow that timing.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Lac Carye, 17 km away. For Lac Lahaye in particular, ask before you travel.
