Passing showers with dry spells between, with dead-still conditions and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Jacques should be near points where shallow meets deep. If you pick one session, make it the morning. Let the water tell you when to move. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Capitale-Nationale, Quebec, is where Lac Jacques sits. What surrounds it is pine and birch. This is a pocket water of some 4 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. For supplies, Laurentides is 24 km out. La Tuque is 38 km and Sainte-Thècle 62 km. Within a short drive: Lac du Centre within 0.9 km, Petit lac du Centre at 1.1 km, Lac Lacon within 1.1 km, Lac Petry at 1.8 km and Petit lac de la Corvee within 2.3 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Reported across Capitale-Nationale: lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The near bank of Lac Jacques is often the one people ignore.
The seasonal spread runs -16°C to 17°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Plan around that when you fish Lac Jacques.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. The nearest alternative is Lac du Centre, 0.9 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Jacques in what we hold.
