A grey, even sky over the water, with a light chop building from the SSE and steady pressure. The water to cover at Lac Ire is points where shallow meets deep. Quiet conditions all day, with the evening marginally better. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Ire is listed under Côte-Nord, Quebec. The country round it is northern bush from end to end. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. On size it sits at the modest end of our Côte-Nord list. Forestville lies 126 km from the water. Then Saint-Honoré, 128 km, and Saint-Fulgence, 131 km. Near neighbours include: Lac Lerol lies 0.5 km on, Lac Cor 0.7 km away, Lac du Talon lies 1.3 km on, Lac Cake 1.4 km away and Lac Sepia lies 1.5 km on. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Côte-Nord records list logperch among the fish reported. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Ire responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Average temperature peaks around 15°C in July and bottoms out near -19°C in January. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Look for the thaw near mid May; the fishing lifts straight after. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid May and starts locking again about early November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. On Lac Ire the same rules apply, with local timing.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Lerol, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the current arrangement for Lac Ire.
