Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a decent SSW wind working the banks and pressure going nowhere. Lac Hay should fish best around windblown banks where food collects today. The numbers single out the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Hay stands in Outaouais, Quebec. Country round the bank runs to lake country bush. At roughly 2 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. Nearest place of any size is Wakefield, 22 km away. After that come Val-des-Monts at 28 km and Cantley at 33 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Work Lac Hay in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The range across the year is -13°C to 19°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about early December. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Plan around that when you fish Lac Hay.
The access position is unclear from public sources. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. If the gate is shut, Lac Usher at 0.3 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac Hay as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
