An even grey lid over the water, with light air out of the S and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lac Gonesse should come off windblown banks where food collects. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Nord-du-Québec, Quebec, is where Lac Gonesse sits. It stands 407 metres above sea level. Small at around 6 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Nord-du-Québec list. Chibougamau at 66 km is the nearest place to stop. Saguenay sits 228 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Species logged across Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Gonesse repays a walk before the first cast.
The seasonal spread runs -19°C to 16°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Time your trip to Lac Gonesse by conditions rather than dates.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Asnois, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Gonesse in particular, ask before you travel.
