Dull, settled light over the water, with calm air over the water and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lac George should come off reed fringes and open pockets. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac George belongs to Côte-Nord, Quebec. The ground around here is boreal forest. At roughly 10 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. The full circuit measures close to 2.0 km on foot. Godefroy at 131 km is the nearest place to stop. Further out sit Port-Cartier (150 km) and Saint-Alexandre (151 km). The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
We hold no depth figure for this one. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac George gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The seasonal spread runs -20°C to 15°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid May. Open water usually runs from mid May until about early November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac George.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Expect 1.1 km away in from where the car goes. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. The nearest alternative is Lac Emile, 0.8 km out. Check the position at Lac George before loading the car.
