Soft grey light all day today, with next to no ripple with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Dolores along the shaded margin through bright spells. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Dolores stands in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Elevation runs to 278 metres. The water covers some 27 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Shoreline comes to about 2.8 km, small enough to learn in a day. Supplies mean a trip to Godefroy, 129 km off. Then Port-Cartier, 146 km, and Saint-Alexandre, 146 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Lac Dolores repays a walk before the first cast.
Climate records put July near 15°C and January near -20°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from mid May. On average, mid May opens the water and early November closes it again. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. That shapes the year on Lac Dolores.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac Villeneuve at 1.3 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac Dolores as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
