Solid cloud cover today, with a persistent wind from the SSW with the glass holding level. Fish at Lac Garneau should hold close to shallow cover and weed edges. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

In Quebec, Lac Garneau belongs to Mauricie. What surrounds it is northern bush. At about 13 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 1.4 km of margin, front to back. Leblanc lies 58 km from the water. For a city, Trois-Rivières is 275 km off. Close by you also have: Lac Michel 0.7 km off, Lac Parker near enough 1.4 km, Lac Carmen 2.4 km off, Lac Jobin near enough 4.5 km and Lac Theriault 5.2 km off. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch among the fish reported. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac Garneau gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. The ice season is long here and the open one short. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Anyone fishing Lac Garneau regularly works to that calendar.
The access position is unclear from public sources. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. The nearest alternative is Lac Michel, 0.7 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Garneau in what we hold.
