Rain moving through today, with a light S breeze and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Fraser should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Night
You will find Lac Fraser in Laurentides, Quebec. It sits in mixed forest country. At 6 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Ferme-Neuve is the closest town at 12 km. It is 148 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. Also within reach: Lac Bourre out at 1.8 km, Lac Grouard 3.1 km off, Lac Leona out at 3.1 km, Lac Major 4.5 km off and Petit lac Bethune out at 5 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Fraser gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The seasonal spread runs -15°C to 18°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. That is the shape of the year on Lac Fraser.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Bourre at 1.8 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Fraser in particular, ask before you travel.
