Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with mild air moving in from the SSE and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Fenris should come off sheltered bays and points. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

In Quebec, Lac Fenris falls inside Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. It sits at 293 metres above sea level. Around 23 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The full circuit measures close to 3.0 km on foot. Supplies mean a trip to Normandin, 50 km off. It is 168 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac Fenris that means starting tight and working out.
Climate normals give 16°C for July and -19°C for January. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Time your trip to Lac Fenris by conditions rather than dates.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Should this one be busy, Lac Astrue is 0.7 km off. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Fenris for certain.
