Heavy overcast holding through the day, with enough SSW wind to stack food downwind and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Fauve should hold close to the shallows early and the drop later. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Also on the doorstep: 0.7 km out stands Lac Boe, Lac Gaudry some 1.1 km off, 1.2 km out stands Lac du Pluvier, Lac Penisson some 2.2 km off and 2.3 km out stands Lac Allay. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac Fauve light and wind decide more than tackle does.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -18°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. At Lac Fauve the season follows that pattern closely.
Access is not recorded for this water. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Boe is 0.7 km off. For Lac Fauve, the notice at the access point is the final word.
