A closed sky with even light today, with a light chop building from the SW with the glass holding level. Give the seam between weed and open water the first hour at Lac Evelyn. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac Evelyn sits in Côte-Nord, out in Quebec. Height above sea level is 274 metres. At about 21 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 3.4 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. The nearest town is Baie-Comeau, 44 km away. Hauterive follows at 52 km, then Chute-aux-Outardes at 65 km. Not far off: Lac Bess sits 1.8 km out, Lac des Seaux 1.8 km, Lac a la Hache sits 2.5 km out, Lac Flo 3.1 km and Lac Malfait sits 3.9 km out. No border sits close enough to matter.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Fish Lac Evelyn where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -15°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. At Lac Evelyn the season follows that pattern closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Bess, 1.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lac Evelyn carry more weight than any list.
