Solid cloud cover today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Lac Embryon. The forecast is against you; the middle of the day is the least bad option. Short, focused sessions beat a long grind today. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Embryon is an Outaouais water, Quebec side. This is mixed forest ground. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. Nearest town is Saint-Boniface, 63 km off. Beyond it, Ferme-Neuve at 67 km and Mont-Laurier at 76 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. At Lac Embryon the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -16°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Lac Embryon runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Lemming, 0.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac Embryon is worth confirming on the day.
