No direct sun expected today, with light air out of the SSW and steady pressure. On Lac de la Veine, work the seam between weed and open water first. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Look for Lac de la Veine in Laurentides, Quebec. The ground round it is pine and birch. At roughly 2 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Our Laurentides list holds plenty of bigger water. Saint-Boniface sits 66 km from the bank. Beyond it, Ferme-Neuve at 68 km and Mont-Laurier at 77 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. The near bank of Lac de la Veine is often the one people ignore.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -16°C for January. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Lac de la Veine that shapes the whole year.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Should this one be busy, Lac Cuticule is 1 km off. The position on Lac de la Veine is worth confirming on the day.
