A closed sky with even light today, with a useful S wind pushing food about with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac Eddy should come off structure within a cast of the bank. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Laurentides in Quebec is where Lac Eddy sits. The water sits 480 metres up. Surface area runs to about 9 hectares — small enough to read in one session. The whole outline is near 2.3 km, and most of it is walkable. Ferme-Neuve sits 44 km from the bank. Further out sit Rivière-Rouge (46 km) and Mont-Laurier (56 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Take Lac Eddy a stretch at a time.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -16°C at the bottom of winter. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Lac Eddy fishes to that pattern most years.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public data records a pier about 1.5 km out. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. For a change of water, Lac Brown is 1.8 km distant. Nothing on Lac Eddy should be assumed from this page alone.
