Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with light air out of the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Lac du Tangara around bays that hold the day's warmth. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Quebec holds Lac du Tangara, in Outaouais. Everything around it is lake country bush. At 6 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 56 km away. The big place round here is Gatineau, 171 km distant. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac du Tangara the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -17°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac du Tangara.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Failing this one, try Lac Bafre, 1.1 km away. Check the position at Lac du Tangara before loading the car.
