Look for Lac du Sansonnet in the Outaouais part of Quebec. It stands 415 metres above sea level. Small even by pond standards, it rewards one careful line. It is a small entry by Outaouais standards. For supplies, Saint-Boniface is 59 km out. Maniwaki is 72 km and Ferme-Neuve 74 km. Also within reach: Lac Faubourg within 1.2 km, Lac Tamburin at about 1.2 km, Lac Yelin within 1.2 km, Lac Quelven at about 1.5 km and Lac Susan within 1.7 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Our records hold no depth for this water. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac du Sansonnet that means starting tight and working out.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -17°C for January. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and late November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. That shapes the year on Lac du Sansonnet.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Faubourg, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Lac du Sansonnet locally before you travel.
