Showers crossing the water today, with a kind SSW breeze on the water and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Lac du Siffleux around the margins and the shelf beyond them. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies.

Lac du Siffleux is listed under Côte-Nord, Quebec. Elevation runs to 470 metres. With some 20 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The edge runs 2.5 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. For supplies, Sept-Îles is 39 km out. Maliotenam is 49 km and Port-Cartier 49 km. More in the same country: Lac de la Chance about 0.9 km, Lac du Soupir at 1.5 km, Lac Soulard about 1.7 km, Lac Piace at 1.7 km and Lac Renee about 3.8 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac du Siffleux decides where the fish sit.
The warm month here averages 14°C; the cold one sits at -18°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Winter locks it down, and mid May brings it back. Averages suggest open water from about mid May through to roughly early November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. It holds true on Lac du Siffleux more years than not.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. The nearest alternative is Lac de la Chance, 0.9 km out. For Lac du Siffleux in particular, ask before you travel.
