A grey, even sky over the water, with a decent S wind working the banks and no real change in pressure. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Lac du Daguet. The morning should out-fish the rest of the day. Small adjustments will matter more than big moves. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Look for Lac du Daguet in the Capitale-Nationale part of Quebec. The ground round it is boreal forest. Surface area runs to about 4 hectares — small enough to read in one session. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Laurentides at 25 km is the nearest place to stop. Saint-Raymond is 43 km and Fossambault-sur-le-Lac 52 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Reported across Capitale-Nationale: lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Lac du Daguet that means starting tight and working out.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -16°C in January. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. It holds true on Lac du Daguet more years than not.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. The nearest alternative is Lac Buck, 0.4 km out. Nothing on Lac du Daguet should be assumed from this page alone.
