Flat light and a covered sky today, with a proper ripple driven from the NNE and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac du Boomerang around windblown banks where food collects. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Set in Côte-Nord, Lac du Boomerang is a Quebec water. What surrounds it is northern bush. It covers about 7 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. On size it sits at the modest end of our Côte-Nord list. Forestville lies 69 km from the water. It is 124 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Read Lac du Boomerang before you fish it and the day goes better.
Averages here run 16°C at the top of summer and -18°C at the bottom of winter. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Lac du Boomerang the same rules apply, with local timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. If the gate is shut, Lac Allaire at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm access to Lac du Boomerang locally before you travel.
