Flat light and a covered sky today, with a faint S drift and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Dosch should be near structure within a cast of the bank. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Set in Outaouais, Quebec, this is Lac Dosch. Land around it is pine and birch. Around 13 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Shoreline comes to about 1.9 km, small enough to learn in a day. Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel lies 12 km from the water. Then Ripon, 16 km, and Saint-André-Avellin, 24 km. Also within reach: Lac Blais just 2.1 km, Lac Croche 2.4 km off, Lac Lafontaine just 2.9 km, Lac du Mort 3.1 km off and Lac Long just 4.3 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Outaouais records list pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass among the fish reported. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Lac Dosch fishes better once you know its edges.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -13°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Plan any trip to Lac Dosch around it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Blais sits 2.1 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Dosch for certain.
