Overcast skies today, with a light chop building from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Doig along the first drop-off and weed lines. If you must go, go in the evening. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Doig lies in Outaouais, in Quebec. Everything around it is rolling bush. Surface area is around 28 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The whole outline is near 4.9 km, and most of it is walkable. The closest town, Saint-Boniface, is 46 km distant. Then Maniwaki, 56 km, and Saint-Raphaël, 68 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Species logged across Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. The county list is broader than any single water. Lac Doig fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -16°C on the long-run figures. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lac Doig runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. If the gate is shut, Lac Caic at 1.4 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing on Lac Doig should be assumed from this page alone.
