Rain on and off through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S and steady pressure. The productive water at Lac des Cornes will be around the margins and the shelf beyond them. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac des Cornes lies within the bounds of Laurentides, Quebec. It stands 292 metres above sea level. Roughly 4.18 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. You are looking at roughly 23 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. Size puts it in the front rank of our Laurentides list. You are 23 km from Ferme-Neuve. Mont-Laurier follows at 33 km, then Rivière-Rouge at 41 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac des Cornes a short move beats a long cast.
The warmest month averages 18°C, the coldest about -15°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Plan any trip to Lac des Cornes around it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac David-Lord at 1.9 km is the nearest alternative. Check the current arrangement for Lac des Cornes.
