Heavy overcast holding through the day, with calm air over the water and pressure going nowhere. Give the shallows early and the drop later the first hour at Lac de la Neige. The strongest window is the morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Capitale-Nationale in Quebec is where Lac de la Neige sits. Everything around it is pine and birch. The water measures roughly 5 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Laurentides sits 25 km from the bank. Further out sit La Tuque (46 km) and Saint-Raymond (57 km). Water in the same corner: Lac Audet after 1.7 km, 1.9 km out stands Lac Dimanche, Lac Ugine after 2.3 km, 2.5 km out stands Lac Tremblay and Lac de laHaute Terre after 2.5 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth figures are not published for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Fish Lac de la Neige where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
The seasonal spread runs -16°C to 17°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Lac de la Neige that shapes the whole year.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac Audet at 1.7 km is the sensible second choice. Signs at Lac de la Neige carry more weight than any list.
