No direct sun expected today, with a steady SSE wind with the barometer flat. Give the first drop-off and weed lines the first hour at Lac Tremblay. One clear peak today: the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Tremblay is one of the Capitale-Nationale listings for Quebec. The country round it is pine and birch from end to end. This is a pocket water of some 2 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Capitale-Nationale list. The town to know is Laurentides, 22 km out. The big place round here is Sainte-Foy, 90 km distant. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Capitale-Nationale records list lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac Tremblay the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
The range across the year is -15°C to 17°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. That is the shape of the year on Lac Tremblay.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Ugine sits 0.9 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Lac Tremblay.
