A grey, even sky over the water, with just enough SSE wind to ripple the surface and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lac de la Ligne should come off inflow corners and shaded margins. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lac de la Ligne in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. Elevation runs to 243 metres. Surface area is around 15 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The full circuit measures close to 2.6 km on foot. Start from Albanel, 39 km down the road. Saguenay is the closest city, 148 km away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Treat Lac de la Ligne as a water to read rather than to cover.
The year swings from about -20°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac de la Ligne.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac aux Perles at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Lac de la Ligne may have changed since it was mapped.
