Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a soft SSW wind with a settled glass. The fish at Lac David are likely to sit near inflow corners and shaded margins. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

You will find Lac David in Outaouais, Quebec. The setting is lake country bush on every side. About 7.29 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. It ranks high for size among our Outaouais listings. Saint-Boniface at 36 km is the nearest place to stop. Maniwaki follows at 39 km, then Saint-Raphaël at 42 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. The shape of Lac David rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in July and bottom out at -15°C in January. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. On Lac David the same rules apply, with local timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Khan at 2.9 km is the sensible second choice. Confirm before you fish Lac David.
