Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW with the glass holding level. On Lac Pite, work points where shallow meets deep first. The forecast is against you; the middle of the day is the least bad option. Short, focused sessions beat a long grind today.

Lac Pite lies within the bounds of Outaouais, Quebec. It sits at 364 metres above sea level. At roughly 8 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Saint-Boniface lies 32 km from the water. Maniwaki follows at 35 km, then Saint-Raphaël at 40 km. Others close at hand: Lac Khan some 1.2 km off, Lac Obus 1.3 km off, Lac Peggy some 1.7 km off, Lac Jute 1.8 km off and Lac Harp some 3.1 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac Pite the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
The seasonal spread runs -15°C to 18°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Anyone fishing Lac Pite regularly works to that calendar.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Khan, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Pite, the notice at the access point is the final word.
