Flat light and a covered sky today, with calm air over the water and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac D'Armes should be near the seam between weed and open water. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac D'Armes is a Laurentides water, Quebec side. Height above sea level is 420 metres. At roughly 4 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. For a base, Rivière-Rouge sits 22 km out. Labelle follows at 27 km, then Mont-Tremblant at 33 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac D'Armes a short move beats a long cast.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -15°C at the bottom of winter. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. The season on Lac D'Armes rarely departs from it.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac Ecuyer at 2.1 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac D'Armes in what we hold.
