Flat light and a covered sky today, with a working SSW breeze with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac Curie should come off sheltered bays and points. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Quebec holds Lac Curie, in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. It lies 440 metres above sea level. At about 28 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 2.8 km, small enough to learn in a day. Leblanc lies 81 km from the water. The big place round here is Saguenay, 224 km distant. Not far off: Lac Calmont 0.6 km away, 0.7 km out stands Lac Joliot, Lac de la Tonne 0.9 km away, 1.3 km out stands Lac Abos and Lac Morache 2 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac Curie a short move beats a long cast.
Between January at about -18°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. This far north the hard season runs and runs. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Lac Curie runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac Calmont, 0.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lac Curie as something to verify.
