Flat light and a covered sky today, with calm air over the water and the barometer holding steady. Start the search at Lac Cullen along the seam between weed and open water. Make the night the heart of the trip. Make the first hour count and build on it. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Cullen lies within the bounds of Outaouais, Quebec. The bank gives way to rolling bush. About 6 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Wakefield at 12 km is the nearest place to stop. Val-des-Monts is 21 km away, with Cantley at 24 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge. The water is easy to walk round in a long session.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Lac Cullen gives up more to patience than to distance.
July runs about 19°C on average, January about -13°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around early December. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan around that when you fish Lac Cullen.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Some banks are open only from a marked point. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Petit lac Cullen, 0.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Cullen as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
