A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a whisper of wind from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lac Caroline should centre on the seam between weed and open water. One clear peak today: the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Mauricie entry here is Lac Caroline, in Quebec. It sits at 498 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 17 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 2.0 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Some 29 km away sits Weymontachie, the nearest settlement. Leblanc follows at 33 km, then Manawan at 90 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Open biodiversity records for Mauricie list northern pike, brook trout and walleye. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Treat Lac Caroline as a water to read rather than to cover.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -17°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Lac Caroline fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Adio, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac Caroline in what we hold.
