No direct sun expected today, with a light S breeze with the barometer flat. Give windblown banks where food collects the first hour at Lac Byette. The morning carries the best of the day. Ride the conditions while they last. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Within Laurentides, Quebec, you have Lac Byette. The bank is 382 metres above sea level. Small even by pond standards, it rewards one careful line. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. Head to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, 0.8 km away, for anything you forgot. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is the closest city, 54 km away. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Read Lac Byette before you fish it and the day goes better.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -14°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Plan around that when you fish Lac Byette.
Public data does not answer the access question here. A slipway 1.4 km out gives trailer access. Station de lavage sits 1.4 km away and handles boats. There is somewhere to leave the car, 380 m off. There is a pier recorded roughly 950 m away. Mapping records toilets within 900 m. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Legare, 1.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Byette, the notice at the access point is the final word.
