No direct sun expected today, with stillness over the whole water with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Beaver should come off the margins and the shelf beyond them. Plan around the stretch from the day. Keep moving until you find them. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Beaver is a Laurentides water, in Quebec. Country round the bank runs to lake country bush. About 4 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Laurentides. Saint-Hippolyte sits 4 km from here and is the nearest stop. Then Piedmont, 5.8 km, and Sainte-Adèle, 6 km. A county line runs close by, so local bylaws can differ within a short drive.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. On Lac Beaver the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Between January at about -13°C and July at about 19°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Climate averages put the opening at about late April and the closing near late November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Beaver.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Failing this one, try Lac Tracy, 0.3 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Beaver in what we hold.
