  Lac des Sables sits within Laurentides in Quebec. The bank is 333 metres above sea level. It covers about 9 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Start from Saint-Hippolyte, 2.5 km down the road. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 34 km distant. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.

• Where to Fish on Lac des Sables
