Overcast skies today, with mild air moving in from the NNW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Lac Anticline around reed fringes and open pockets. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Lac Anticline lies within the bounds of Côte-Nord, Quebec. It lies 566 metres above sea level. Around 56 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The shoreline runs about 5.7 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. It sits higher than most water we list in Quebec. Supplies mean a trip to Labrador City, 261 km off. For a city, Saguenay is 828 km off. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac Anticline the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Expect July to average close to 12°C, with January the cold end at about -25°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Winter locks it down, and early June brings it back. Open water usually runs from early June until about late October. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. It holds true on Lac Anticline more years than not.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Hyland, 0.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Anticline in particular, ask before you travel.
