An even grey lid over the water, with a light chop building from the NW and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac Willbob should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Set in Côte-Nord, Quebec, this is Lac Willbob. It lies 553 metres above sea level. Roughly 4.45 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. At about 14 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. Few waters listed in Côte-Nord are bigger. Nearest place of any size is Labrador City, 249 km away. Then Wabush, 254 km, and Fermont, 268 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Work Lac Willbob in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Averages move between -24°C in January and 12°C in July. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early June. The season between ice runs from about early June to late October. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. On Lac Willbob the same rules apply, with local timing.
We hold no note on access for this one. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Marbrelle, 6.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac Willbob in what we hold.
