Flat light and a covered sky today, with a gentle ripple from the S with the barometer flat. Lac Alphonse should fish best around sheltered bays and points today. Set the alarm around the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

The Laurentides end of Quebec holds Lac Alphonse. Elevation runs to 247 metres. It measures about 34 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. It ranks high for size among our Laurentides listings. The nearest town is La Minerve, 7.5 km away. Further out sit Labelle (8.4 km) and Lac-Simon (15 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Lac Alphonse gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -14°C at the bottom of winter. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Expect Lac Alphonse to follow that timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Should this one be busy, Lac des Cannes is 1.7 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Alphonse in what we hold.
