Uneven cloud over the water after dark, with a faint S drift with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Alos are likely to sit near any hard bottom among the soft. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Alos lies in Laurentides, Quebec. It lies 341 metres above sea level. About 3 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is a small entry by Laurentides standards. For supplies, La Minerve is 18 km out. Beyond it, Rivière-Rouge at 28 km and Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel at 29 km. In the same area: Lac Ecly lies 0.4 km on, Lac de l'Isba out at 1.6 km, Lac des Morenes lies 1.7 km on, Lac Colour out at 2.3 km and Lac Montjoie lies 2.6 km on. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. The shape of Lac Alos decides where the fish sit.
The warmest month averages 18°C, the coldest about -14°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Plan around that when you fish Lac Alos.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Ecly, 0.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Alos as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
