Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a faint S drift with the glass holding level. Lac Allard should fish best around sheltered bays and points today. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Allard in Mauricie, Quebec. It sits 37 km in from the sea. This is a pocket water of some 7 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Some 13 km away sits Saint-Élie-de-Caxton, the nearest settlement. It is 48 km to Trois-Rivières, the nearest city. Near neighbours: Lac Bienvenue roughly 1.5 km, Lac Rouge at 1.9 km, Lac en Dentelle roughly 2 km, Lac Ford at 2.4 km and Lac Paille roughly 2.5 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch among the fish reported. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac Allard light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -14°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Anyone fishing Lac Allard regularly works to that calendar.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. The nearest car park we can see is 1.5 km out, so expect a walk with your gear. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. The nearest alternative is Lac Bienvenue, 1.5 km out. Nothing on Lac Allard should be assumed from this page alone.
