Soft grey light all day today, with a working SSW breeze with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Aime is bays that hold the day's warmth. Everything points to the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Aime is one of the Lanaudière waters in Quebec. The setting is northern bush. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Nearest place of any size is Manawan, 25 km away. Beyond it, Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 45 km and Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm at 79 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Across Lanaudière, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Anyone new to Lac Aime should walk it once before setting up.
Averages move between -16°C in January and 17°C in July. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Time your trip to Lac Aime by conditions rather than dates.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. If the gate is shut, Lac Moose at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. Treat access at Lac Aime as something to verify.
