Cloud coming and going through the night, with barely a breath of wind with the barometer flat. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Lac Aigrefin. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
Look for Lac Aigrefin in Outaouais, Quebec. The surroundings are pine and birch. At 3 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. Nearest town is Saint-Boniface, 98 km off. It is 213 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac Aigrefin the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -17°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about late November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Aigrefin.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Marlot, 0.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Aigrefin as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
