Moonlight in and out behind the cloud tonight, with just enough W wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Lac a Wagon should be near the seam between weed and open water. The productive run goes night into morning. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac a Wagon is a Laurentides water, in Quebec. It sits in mixed forest. Roughly 27 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. A shoreline of some 3.6 km keeps the choices simple. On our Laurentides list it sits near the top for size. Head to Mont-Laurier, 25 km away, for anything you forgot. Orléans is the closest city, 109 km away. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac a Wagon responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -15°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. That is the shape of the year on Lac a Wagon.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Should this one be busy, Lac du Cerf is 0.9 km off. Rules at Lac a Wagon are worth checking on the day.
