No direct sun expected today, with a persistent wind from the SSW and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Baie Villeneuve should come off the seam between weed and open water. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Baie Villeneuve falls in Laurentides, part of Quebec. The bank is 375 metres above sea level. Manawan at 59 km is the nearest place to stop. Ferme-Neuve lies 75 km off, Mont-Laurier another 92 km. Within a short drive: Lac Paul the better part of 1.2 km, Lac des Iles within 2.1 km, Lac la Tente the better part of 2.3 km, Lac Hiche within 3.1 km and Lac Depanneur the better part of 3.3 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The channel is where water moves, and fish follow it. Flats either side fish on the drop as bait is pushed off them. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Baie Villeneuve the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -16°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Baie Villeneuve runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Paul, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Baie Villeneuve for certain.
